Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan (available from Amazon or free on the internet,

- Up to the paragraph that begins: 'Now I saw in my dream that they went on, and Great-heart went before them, so they went and came to the place where Christian's burthen fell off his back...'
My notes and thoughts
Today's reading is taken up with the visit to the House of the Interpreter. The pilgrims are shown the same things as Christian but with some extra ones. At the end they are introduced to Great-heart who was armed ready to conduct them to the House called Beautiful.
The most striking lesson for me was the man with the muck-rake: 'There stood also one over his head with a celestial crown in his hand, and proffered to give him that crown for his muck-rake; but the man did neither look up, nor regard, but raked to himself the straws, the small sticks, and dust of the floor.' So true! How many non-Christians around us are simply doing the same? A crown is being offered to them but they'd rather gather garbage to themselves.
Now it's your turn
