In Section V we observe his response to suffering.
Then in Section VI we hear about Henry's views on:
(i) prayer;
(ii) meditation;
(iii) hope;
(iv) the Sabbath.
Henry had many helpful things to say about suffering.
I think this was one of the finer pieces of advice: '"Do not expect," he would say, "to find it all carpet way to heaven." He observed, nevertheless, that "though the weather may be foul, and the ways dirty, home is not far off: and all," said he, "is quiet and well there."'
We should have a realistic understanding of the way to heaven, but also of what we will find when we get there.
Commence Chapter 14 by reading up to the paragraph beginning 'Dr Adam Clarke, adverting to the minor compilations from commentaries, which, from time to time, have appeared, notices to what a vast number of them Mr Henry's excellent work has given birth.'
