My summary
Today Spurgeon (Thomas, not C.H.) teaches us about grace.

Firstly Spurgeon says that it is difficult to define grace.

But then he goes on to say something of what we can know about grace, particularly by grace's relationship to:
(i) salvation;
(ii) righteousness;
(iii) the Bible;
(iv) sin;
(v) graces;
(vi) the cross;
(vii) faith;
(viii) the boasting of man.

What grabbed me
I liked Spurgeon's admission that grace is hard to understand: 'Oh ! the exceeding riches of His grace. Whereunto shall we liken the mercy of God, or with what comparison shall we compare it? It defies definition, and beggars description. This is hardly to be wondered at, for it is so Divine. There are some things of earth to which no human pen or brush has done justice storms, rainbows, cataracts, sunsets, icebergs, snowflakes, dewdrops, the wings that wanton among summer flowers. Because God made them; man fails to describe them. Who, then, shall tell forth fully that which God has and is?'

We will only ever scratch the surface in our understanding of God's grace.
