My summary
This week we continue to read Hippolytus' refutation of heresies by reading Book IV. (Book II and III are no longer extant)
Hippolytus gives an overview of the teaching of astrologers (particularly horoscopes) and attacks their presuppositions.
He also spends a considerable amount of time demonstrating the trickery behind most claims of magical powers.
What grabbed me
I must admit it was interesting to read about the illusions of so-called magicians. Although the self-slaughter of sheep was appalling.

Read Book V of 'The refutation of all heresies' by Hippolytus.
