My summary
Today Dabney laments the state of the country now that civil war has broken out.
Dabney speaks about
(i) the painful effects of war in general;
(ii) Virginia's role in the war;
(iii) the probable future results of the war.
What grabbed me
As I live in a country far removed from the United States, it isn't surprising that nothing really grabbed me in today's reading.
