Required reading
Ante-Nicene Fathers (Vol 6) (Available from Amazon or free here) - Continue 'The seven books of Arnobius against the heathen' by reading Book IV.
My summary
This week Arnobius continues to attack the gods of pagans.
He asks further probing questions of the pagans about their religions. In particular, he challenges them to prove whether certain gods even exist, such as
(i) the gods Piety, Concord, Safety, Honour, Virtue, Happiness (Arnobius asserts that these are simply the excellence of manhood)
(ii) the gods that share the same name (aren't these logical contradictions).
What grabbed me
I wasn't particularly helped by today's reading, probably as there was little mention of Christianity.
Next week's reading
Continue 'The seven books of Arnobius against the heathen' by reading Book V.
