Christian's daily walk - Scudder - X - Chapter 9 (Rule for our religious conduct in prosperity)

Required reading
The Christian's daily walk, in holy security and peace by Henry Scudder (Available from Amazon or free here) - Read Chapter 9 (Rule for our religious conduct in prosperity).

My summary
Today Scudder gives us some rules for religious conduct when in prosperity.

Firstly he warns us to take heed of committing those sins to which the nature of man is most addicted when his heart is satiated with prosperity.

Secondly Scudder encourages us to produce those good fruits which are the principal ends why God gives good success.  This takes up most of the chapter.  Scudder shows us:
(i) what is professed praise and thankfulness to God;
(ii) real proofs of thankfulness.

What grabbed me
I loved this line: 'thanks-living is the best way of thanksgiving'.

Amen!

Next week's reading
Read Chapter 10 (Directions for walking with God under afflictions).
