Christian's daily walk - Scudder - XIII - Chapter 11 (Of uprightness) concluded

Required reading
The Christian's daily walk, in holy security and peace by Henry Scudder (Available from Amazon or free here) - Conclude Chapter 11 (Of uprightness).

My summary
This week Scudder finishes teaching us about uprightness.

Firstly he gives us some:
(i) disuasives from hypocrisy;
(ii) some motives to uprightness.

Secondly Scudder provides means to:
(i) subdue hypocrisy;
(ii) promote uprightness.

What grabbed me
I continue to appreciate the reminder that the upright have more effective prayers: 'He that is upright, is sure to have his prayers heard, Jer. xxix. 13, and to be made able to profit by the word of God, and by all his holy ordinances. Do not my words, saith God, do good to him that walks uprightly ? Micah ii. 7.'

Want to have more powerful prayers?  Live a holy life.

Next week's reading
Read Chapter 12 (Of lawful care, and of freedom from anxious care).
