My summary
Today Clement continues to compare Christianity with Greek philosophy.

The majority of today's reading is taken up with showing the superiority of Israelite historical figures to Greek historical figures.

Moses features rather prominently, particularly his work as legislator but even as military leader.

At the end of Book I the editor made some comments about the book, including some remarks about Clement's view of justification.

What grabbed me
Clement made a good statement about the importance of both law and gospel: 'For both the law and the Gospel are the energy of one Lord, who is “the power and wisdom of God;” and the terror which the law begets is merciful and in order to salvation.'

The law has an important role in the life of the church along with the gospel.  You can't take one or the other.
