Letters of Samuel Rutherford - Rutherford - VIII - Letters 31 to 33

Required reading
The Letters of Samuel Rutherford (Available from Amazon or free here) - Read Letters 31 to 33.

My summary
Today we read letters addressed to:
(i) John Clark;
(ii) Earlston, Younger;
(iii) William Dalgeish.

The letters speak of:
(i) the difference between Christians and reprobates;
(ii) help for doubtings;
(iii) the dearness of the ministry.

What grabbed me
I appreciated the marks Rutherford gave of a true Christian in comparison to a reprobate, particularly this one: 'If the love of Christ keepeth you back from sinning, more than the law, or fear of hell.'

The reasons we don't sin do say a lot about our relationship with God.

Next week's reading
Read Letters 34 to 37.
